Without hesitation, Jack decided to try and open the locker. He fiddled with the lock for a while and finally managed to get it open. Inside, he found an old and worn-out violin.

It seemed to have been played for many years and was covered in scratches and marks. Jack picked it up and noticed that the violin was still warm, as if someone had been playing it just moments before.

Suddenly, the door behind him opened, and a mysterious figure appeared. It was an old man with a long white beard and twinkling eyes.

The car

I sat in a driver seat of my car, I couldn’t t help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. This old girl had been with me through thick and thin, from the early days of my youth to now, as I approached my golden years. She had seen it all, and yet she still remained faithful to me, purring softly beneath my touch.

I remembered the day I first laid eyes on her, a sleek and shiny sports car gleaming in the midday sun. She was my dream car, the one I had always wanted since I was a boy. I had saved up for years to buy her, and when I finally did, it was like dream come true.

We had gone on countless adventures together, from crushing down the winding roads of the countryside to tearing up the highways in the city. We had seen sunsets and sunrises, had late night drives and early morning commutes and she had never let me down.

But now as I looked at her I start to realize our time together was coming to an end. The years have taken their toll on her and she was starting to show her age. The paint was fading, the engine was starting to struggle, and the upholstery was frayed.

As I drove her down the road for what might be the last time, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness washed over me. She had been much more than just a car to me, she had been a companion, a confidante, a friend. But all good things come to an end, and it was time to say goodbye.

As I pulled into dealership I took last look at her and smiled. She had been a faithful companion and she would always have a special place in my heart. I handed over the keys and watched as she drove away knowing that she would be in good hands with her new owner.

As I walked away, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me once again. But I knew that it was time to move on, to start a new chapter in my life. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll find another car that will be just as special as she was.

One day, a young prince from a neighboring kingdom came to court the princess. He was a handsome and charming man with a heart full of love and mind full of ambition. He was determined to win the princess’s heart and make her his bride.

The prince showered the princess with gifts and compliments, and she was soon in loved with his charm. They spent many happy hours together, walking in the gardens and sharing their secrets under the stairs. The princess was certain that the prince was the one she had been waiting for, and she accepted his proposal of marriage straight away.

But as the wedding day drew near, strange things began to happen. The princess started to have nightmares about dark and shadowy figure that would lurk in the corners of her room at night. She would wake up screaming, and her attendants would find her shaking and covered in sweat. The prince was concerned for his beloved, and he consulted the kingdom’s wise man to find a solution.

Story about coffee bean, milk and a cup

One day, a coffee bean, a drop of milk and a coffee cup were chatting in cafeteria called Rusticana which was rarely visited by people in a small village near Florence. The three friends were sad because no one ever came to visit and they decided it was time to go away from cafeteria to see the world.

They made a plan that the journey begins at midnight. Everybody packed their small bags and hit the road. When they approached a tall oak tree a drop of milk had to seat down. “I must rest a little,” said the milk drop but the coffee bean got angry: “Why must you sit down just now when we are almost reaching the train station that can bring us far away?” Then the cup screams:” aahh!! Look! Something is crawling on the floor, I am afraid! Drop of milk, do not seat down!“ but the drop of milk could not walk anymore. The old oak tree heard them and said: “What are you doing here? I have never seen such a group before. You are not animals nor people.” Coffee bean replied bravely:” We are three friends traveling the world.” The old oak tree replied: “If you are three friends why are you arguing? Friends do not argue.” The cup starts to shake and squeezes to the coffee bean. Milk drop also steps closer to the coffee bean. Coffee bean replied: “Maybe we are not friends.” Then a drop of milk steps away from coffee bean and also the cup does the same. As the drop of milk steps away it steps right into a paddle of water and disappears in it. The cup starts to scream and jumps after it. The cup too drowns in the puddle. Coffee bean starts to laugh as much as he can. As loud as he can! “Look how silly these two are! Ha ha ha!! They just drown in the first paddle that came along. Ha ha ha!” The old oak tree says: “Now I am sure you are not friends.”

As the coffee bean laughs he hears cup calling out the paddle of water: “Help, help!” Now the coffee bean gets scared. It goes to the paddle and reaches in and the cup grabs it by the hand and coffee bean jumps back. As they are falling down coffee bean sees a drop of milk holding the cup and as they fall down on the floor the coffee bean and milk drop both fall into the cup and get stuck. They start to call out: “Help, help “and the old oak tree says: “You supposed to be friends and friends help each other.” The cup answers:” You are right. I think I have an idea. Old oak tree, do you know anyone who comes by here?” The old oak tree says: »Yes. Each morning a man comes to collect the wood just before the down. He might help.” So they all waited in silence for the down. Because it was dark and it was not cold they fell asleep. And as the down came so did the man to collect the wood. As he approaches the old oak tree he sees the cup and inside the coffee bean and drop of milk. Because they were still a sleep and did not say anything he lifts up the cup and drinks out the milk and the coffee bean. That is a very good coffee he says to the old oak tree and then the cup screams:” Oh no! You drank my friends!” The man looks at the screaming cup and says: “They were very good. Thank you.” The cup never spoke again. Only every time people drink milk and coffee the cup gets a little warmer.

Guitar is one of the most popular music instruments in the world. Its origins date back 5000 years into India and central Asia. The instrument was known as a sihtar. Many different styles and names were formed. A lot is written about this instrument but there is little known about an old legend about the guitar.

The legend of the guitar

There was a boy called Caleb. His parents died when he was very young. Another rainy day came and Caleb was opening his hands into the rain saying: “Dear rain, can you help me find some happiness today?” Rain wasn’t saying anything. It was just making Caleb a little more wet. So, he sat down on the wet floor. All he sees is mud and water. Only in the distance it looked like something was moving towards the end of the muddy street. He stood up and ran to see. There was an old guitar left on the street being rained all over. He looked at this strange thing and ask: “Who are you?” he was laughing at himself knowing he is talking to a thing not a person. But the old “thing” suddenly made a strange tinny sound. Caleb thought it was the rain making this sound bouncing on the strings. It was funny! The guitar, seeing him smiling, made another louder sound. This time Caleb jumped in fear! It truly made a sound! It was not the rain this time. He steps closer and asks again: “Who are you?“ and out from a hole a tinny voice calles out: “CAGED!“ Caleb thought to himself: “Maybe the guitar knows him and it simply misspelled his name.” So he said: “I am Caleb not Caged. Nice to meet you.” The guitar squeaked again: “CAGED!” Caleb was thinking:” Maybe somebody is trapped inside. Let’s have a look!” Very cautiously he looked inside the guitar but nobody was to be seen inside. So, he gently takes it into his arms and starts to rock it trying to comfort whomever was caged. The first string starts to resonate. Its sound was low and dark. Caleb starts to rock it even more:” Everything will be all right. I will take care of you.” he says. The guitar made another sound. Second string shivered. Caleb gently taped the string and the guitar made one more beautiful sound. Not at all squeaky this time. Caleb felt a strange force shivering inside his hands as he run down the strings with all his fingers. The strangest feeling of happiness overwhelmed him. It was not raining anymore. The sun came out but Caleb didn’t notice. The guitar was calling out again: “CAGED! CAGED!” and Calebs fingers press the guitar neck in a strange position. The right hand was running down the strings and the most beautiful sound Caleb has ever heard came out of the guitar. It felt like somebody came to talk to him. The guitar transformed into a beautiful girl. Caleb jumped away and asked: “Who are you?” and the girl replied: “Thank you for letting me out. I was trapped inside the guitar for hundred years because an old wizard trapped me inside. I was born in Blue mountainand my name is Musica.” Caleb said: “I am happy to meet you Musica. I am also alone.” Musica replied: “I am still caged inside the guitar but I came out because the right hands played the right strings. During the day I will go back to be a guitar but during the night I will be your friend and I will teach you how to play.” Caleb hugged her and said thankfully: “I will do my very best to listen and learn!” And so Calebs first chords were C, A, G, E, D and Musica taught him to play the most beautiful songs people have ever heard. He became famous guitar player and every time a new guitarist is born the energy of Musica and Caleb walks the earth again.

Ljubljana in zmaj

Ljubljana naše glavno mesto ima svoje zanimive kotičke in simboličnega zmaja. Ampak zakaj je ravno zmaj simbol mesta?

Zmaj pooseblja moč in pogum. V Ljubljani je prisoten že od srednjega veka, kot okras, kasneje pa je vedno bolj dobival na pomembnosti, dokler ni dobil vloge samega zaščitnika mesta.

Kot vsako staro mesto ima tudi Ljubljana legendo o ustanovitvi. Naša Ljubljana pa ima celo dve zgodbi. Ena, govori o Jazonu ,grškem junaku, ki je ukradel zlato runo, kožo zlatega ovna in z ladjo bežal pred zasledovalci. Zašli so v ustje Donave in ker se niso mogli obrniti nazaj, so pluli po reki vse do Save in nato po Ljubljanici, kjer so se blizu njenega izvira morali ustaviti in prezimiti. Ladjo so razstavili in jo na ramenih prenesli do Jadranskega morja, kjer so jo spet sestavili, da so lahko potovali naprej. Med prehodom barja so argonavti naleteli na zmaja, ki je tam živel. Jazon naj bi ga ubil in tako postal prvi Ljubljančan.

Druga legenda pa govori o Juriju, viteškemu svetniku. Jurij je zaščitnik tudi mesta Pirana, Ptuja in Ljubljane. Zmaj v legendi o Juriju predstavlja zlo in prekletstvo, ki ga premaga vera. Legenda o Juriju je zapisana v Zlati legendi iz leta 1275 Jacobusa Voragina. Veliko je upodobitev Jurija, kako prebada zmaja s sulico.

O Ljubljanskem zmaju je veliko napisanega. Zanimivo pa je, da tudi človeški ribici v naši Postojni pravijo “zmajček”. Med drugim pa tudi moški večkrat uporabljajo ta simbolični izraz za svojo ženo. V potegavščini seveda. Zmaja so uporabljala za svojo promocijo tudi številna podjetja na embalažah svojih izdelkov. Najbolj znana je še vedno pivovska steklenica ali pa nagrada za modne
dosežke. Uveljavil se je tudi kot simbol športnih klubov in maskota. Seveda ga najdemo tudi v samem grbu mesta.

Rokavice

Rokavice so skozi zgodovino narekovale modne smernice. Simbolizirale so status in tradicijo. Postale pa so tudi modni dodatek, ki varuje roke pred mrazom. Varujejo tudi zdravje. V zdravstveni industriji so nepogrešljive. Srečamo jih v vseh industrijskih panogah od kemijske do težkih industrijskh panog. Spomnimo se športnikov. Nogometni vratarji, smučarji, kolesarji. Tudi za naše hišne ljubljenčke se najdejo. Starši pa obvezno in skrbno natikamo otroške rokavice svojim malčkom. Zelo zanimivo se je ozreti nazaj, od kod modne rokavice izvirajo, kako so jih uporabljali, zakaj so postale popularen dodatek. Rokavice so del našega vsakdana in velikokrat jih nadenemo, kar tako za zabavo, potovanja ali pa, da bi popestrili svojo zunanjo podobo.

Srednji vek in rokavice do 16. tega stoletja

Korenine rokavic segajo daleč nazaj v čase starih Grkov. Homerjeva Odiseja opisuje, kako se ženska z rokavicami sprehaja po vrtu. Do 13.tega stoletja se rokavice niso pojavile kot modni pripomoček. Govor se, da je bil Paris prvo mesto, ki je predstavilo izredno »fancy« primere rokavic, ki so bile izdelane iz živalskih kož in dlak. Zahvaljujoč kraljici Elizabeti prvi in njeni zbirki z dragulji posipanih rokavic se je občinstvo zgrinjalo nad njenimi državniškimi rokami.

Viktorijanski časi

Ročna oblačila so postala zelo popularna v času kraljice Viktorije. Ta modni trend je nakazoval socialni status. Bogate ženske so nosile rokavice na obeh rokah tako, da so imele vse pokrito in s tem pokazale drugim, da si lahko privoščijo sužnje, da, opravljajo težaška dela zanje. Skozi ta čas so ženske nosile te pripomočke ves čas, še posebej na formalnih srečanjih. Po bontonu so si rokavice pred obrokom snele in jih nadele takoj, ko so končale z obedom. Zraven skromnosti in drže socialnega statusa so ti pripomočki ženskam pomagali v izogib resnim boleznim. V 1880 tih letih je bilo veliko smrtonosnih bolezni in veliko ljudi je takrat umrlo.

Klobuk

Kdo ne pozna tiste znane slovenske pesmi Moj klobuk ima tri luknje? Je že precej let je z nami in mi z njo ampak ali vemo kako daleč sega zgodba o klobuku?

Zgodovina klobukov sega zelo daleč v zgodovino. Po nekaterih dokazih celo 30.000 let nazaj. Arheologi so v vasi Willendorf v Avstriji odkrili paleolitski kipec imenovali so ga Venera. Venera bi naj nosila volneno kapo. Kipec se nahaja v Nacionalnem muzeju zgodovine na Dunaju. Tudi znan Otzi, ki so ga našli zmrznjenega med avstrijskimi and italijanskimi Alpami je nosil medvedjo kapo, ki se zaveže pod brado. Otzi je tam ležal od leta 3250 pr.n.št. Različna pokrivala so stoletja krasila glave žensk in moških in nedvomno bodo klobuki in pokrivala krojili naše podobe tudi v prihodnosti.

Klobučar

Klobučar je bil še v prejšnjem stoletju zelo cenjen poklic. Še danes so znani klobučarji v Londonu, Belgiji, Italiji, Ameriki itd. V Nemčiji so imeli tudi klobučarja za religiozna pokrivala. Tam se nahaja tudi največja zbirka takih klobukov na svetu, ki jo sestavlja 500 primerkov. Klobučarje smo imeli tudi v Sloveniji. Ročno so izdelovali klobuke, ki so predstavljali tudi statusen simbol. Meščani so si radi nadevali pokrivala in ženske so tekmovale med seboj v kreacijah izdelanih po naročilu.

Zgodovina klobukov je obsežna in veliko knjig je napisanih o njih. Najbolj znan klobuk pa je seveda klobuk Napoleona Bonaparteja. Le kdo ne pozna tega posebnega pokrivala, ki ga je nosil Napoleon v svojih bitkah? Pa Churchillovega homburga, Lincolnovega visokega cilindra in Jackie Kennedys majhnega roza klobuka?

Klobuki so dobili svoje mesto tudi na porokah, na kronanih glavah so »obvezni«. Ne malokrat pa poskrbijo za veliko komentarjev tudi na podelitvah Oskarjev , Grammiyev, Zlati palmi ipd. Z veseljem jih spremljamo na modnih pistah, zabavah potovanjih. Najdemo jih seveda tudi v filmih in eden najbolj poznanih je bil v filmu o Alici v čudežni deželi in njenem najboljšem prijatelju klubučarju.

Mesto Gradec

Vzemite vse, kar ste kadarkoli vedeli, ali misli o tem avstrijskem
mestu in vrzite skozi okno. Mesto Gradec nima Dunajske noblese ali Salzburškega
klasičnega glasbenega pridiha niti Alp na svojem pragu kot Innsbruck. Ima pa
nekaj zapeljivega. Težko je sicer opredeliti, kje ta zapeljivost v bistvu je.

Tukaj vlada nekak skrivnosten mediteranski pridih, ki veje
med pastelnimi dvorišči, posutimi z oljkami. V samem centru, ki je območje za
pešce, boste slišali zvoke tramvajev in kolesarskih zvoncev. Staro mesto
ohranja bitje mladostne duše z 20-% populacijo študentov, ki tam živijo.
Komunističen župan, ki je bil izbran na zadnjih volitvah, trenutno vodi mestno
upravo. Gradec ima tudi dve UNESCOVI označbi.

To je mesto nežnih paradoksov. Mesto, kjer sobivata
klasika in moderna. Mesto, kjer ti kulinarična ustvarjalnost da misliti kaj
sploh veš o centralno evropski kuhinji. Mesto, s tako močnim fokusom na
svežini, kjer ti postrežejo z »od kmetije do vilic« restavracijami, ki jim
preprosto rečejo kar restavracije in kjer pridelki na stojnicah pripovedujejo o
svojih pridelovalcih.

Tukaj začutiš pridih skrivnostne elegance, ki se skriva na glavni ulici Herrengasse, kjer ti trgovinice mežikajo, da jih obiščeš. Nakupovanje dobi posebne razsežnosti, ko vstopiš vanje, saj so nastanjene v starih mestnih hišah in ob vstopu začutiš vonj po skrivnostni zgodovini mesta. Ne odideš, da ne bi kaj kupil, saj te omami nekakšna nostalgija po starih časih, kjer še ni bilo telefonov, televizij, in je vladala preprostost vsakdanjega človeka.

V Gradcu se velikokrat tudi kaj dogaja. Galerije, muzeji in raznovrstno koncerti so tisti del kulturnega mesta, ki mu dajejo noto povezave z Dunajem in drugimi Avstrijskimi mesti.

Valentinovo

Valentinovo ali dan Svetega Valentina, ki ga praznujemo 14. februarja
zaljubljenci slavijo na polno. Po nekaterih zapisih ima veliko podobnosti z
Rimskim festivalom , ki so mu stari Rimljani rekli Lupercalia in ga tudi slavili
v sredini Februarja. Festival je vključeval zabavo in slavo prihajajoči pomladi in tudi
rituale rodovitnosti, ki so jih Rimljani začinili tako, da so se igrali
loterijo z ženskami. Vsega tega je imel dovolj papež Gelasius v petem stoletju
in je prepovedal praznovanje Lupercalie. Praznovanje Svetega Valentina pa je
nekako zamenjalo to praznovanje čeprav praznovanje samega Valentinovega v obliki
romantičnega praznovanja ne poznamo do okoli 14.stoletja.

Legende

Čeprav poznamo nekaj kristjanskih mučenikov po imenu Valenitn bi lahko
praznik Valentinovo dobil ime po duhovniku , ki je bil mučen okoli leta 270 n.št. v času
cesarja Claudiusa drugega Gothiusa. Po legendi bi naj duhovnik podpisal pismo
hčeri njegovega zaporniškega mučitelja s »od tvojega Valentina« s katero se je
spoprijateljil in po nekaterih navedbah pozdravil slepote. Po drugih navedbah
pa bi praznik naj dobil ime po Svetem Valentinu iz Terne, duhovniku, čeprav
obstaja verjetnost, da gre za eno in isto osebo. Druga legenda govori o
duhovniku, ki bi naj na skrivaj poročal pare, da možje ni bi odhajali v vojno,
zato je praznik povezan z ljubeznijo.

Zabava za Valentinovo

Valentinčki oziroma ljubezenska sporočila so se pojavila
okoli leta 1500 in do konca 1700 so se že pojavila kot printane komercialne
kartice. Prve komercialne kartice so bile natisnjene v ZDA sredi 18.stoletja.
Kartice so po večini prikazovale Kupida Rimskega boga ljubezni skupaj s srčki,
tradicionalnimi simboli čustev. Tudi ptički se ženijo takrat in zato so podobe
ptic tudi postale simbol tega dne. Tradicionalna darila pa vsebujejo seveda
sladkarije in rože, predvsem rdeče vrtnice, ki so simbol lepote in ljubezni.
